Philly Ad Club: After a one-month review, the KFC-Houston Advertising Co-op, Houston, has named LevLane as its advertising agency of record. Other review particpants were DGWB, Santa Ana, CA, and the incumbent, J&A Integrated Thinking, Brentwood, Tenn. A budget of $2.5 million will go to TV, radio, digital, print, P-O-P and outdoor, with first programs due to launch in January.
Selection was based on a strategic sales-building plan. KFC-Houston Advertising Co-op president Ali Kamal states, “LevLane presented a roadmap that was both thorough, and most importantly, appropriate for this highly competitive DMA. Church’s, Chick-fil-A, and Popeyes are all strong presences here. It is not an easy environment.”
LevLane sr. vp, account director Chris Ponzio adds, “LevLane has a 25-year track record of building KFC?sales. We look forward to extending that record in one of the most crowded chicken/quick service marketplaces in the country.”
The KFC?Houston Advertising Co-op includes fourteen members in the Houston DMA. LevLane already manages seven other KFC?regional co-op accounts, located in Vt., Mass., N.Y., Penn., Ga. and Fla., and representing in total over 400 restaurants in five of the nation’s top ten DMAs.
