Media Planner/Buyer

Responsibilities

  • Support Media Supervisors and Media Directors in the development of paid media strategies, buys, and analytics
  • Research media options during planning process
  • Execute client-approved media buys for multiple Agency clients
  • Negotiate, placement and stewardship of media
    • Evaluates potential delivery of a wide range of media vehicles to determine which
      would most effectively drive KPIs
    • Works with media sales representatives to develop customized programs that meet
      client budgets
    • Maintains all media buys and is responsible for the post-buy analysis
  • Support and/or manage the creation and optimization of self-managed digital media campaigns
    • Audience Identification and Targeting
    • Campaign Testing (Objective/Tactics/Ads)
    • Budget pacing and actualization
  • Communicate buy orders and commercial traffic instructions to media vendors
  • Strong working knowledge of the Agency’s media buying software and billing software
  • Lead media team member for the entry and management of media buy orders and invoice reconciliation in the billing cycle.
  • Prepare analytical reports in support of both digital and traditional media buyers
  • Source and communicate the ad material specifications and deadlines for all tactics within an approved plan
  • Work as part of the integrated media planning group, applying both digital and traditional media solutions
  • Work with team to deliver campaign metrics and, at campaign close, provide summaries of execution and analysis of performance

Requirements

  • A four-year degree
  • 3 – 6 Years’ experience in a media department/advertising agency
  • Experience in the research, planning, and execution of offline and digital media
  • Experience and working knowledge of media research tools and software
    • Agency uses Strata/Freewheel media buying software
  • Skilled in self-managed paid digital media channels like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest and/or Google Ads
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong experience with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word software
  • Attention to detail and the ability to effectively multitask in a deadline-driven environment
  • A lifelong learner with the desire to keep current in the changing media world through self-directed efforts.
