Director of Integrated Production

The Director of Integrated Production is a leader who values creative problem solving and has spent their career pushing creatively driven approaches and organizations forward.

They work closely with key players across the agency to help bring creative ideas to life. They have significant experience building and managing production teams that deliver world-class content on budget and on time at scale and is comfortable navigating all production matters, including clearances and production legal issues, guild matters, insurance and payroll related to vendors and other talent.

They have a deep skill set in classic and modern integrated production dynamics that cover all mediums. The Director of Integrated Production has an entrepreneurial spirit and is motivated by the idea of crafting and building an organizational resource, as well as, rolling up their sleeves and doing as much as managing.

Responsibilities:

  • Great communicator and motivator, driving teams to get things done, as well as helping the organization create a strong culture of learning by making
  • Explore cutting edge production technology
  • Familiarity with estimating and bidding complex making projects
  • Partner with leadership to define the total agency needs (full-time and freelance) on an ongoing basis
  • Build and maintain trust among teams
  • Lead and manage production support team
  • Manage and develop relationships with external content partners, directors, and other creative partners
  • Manage service level and rate negotiations to ensure greatest quality and value for clients and profitability for the agency
  • Oversee insurance, permitting, guild matters, crew payroll, production legal, and production safety protocols
  • Advise on all key production and delivery decisions that impact budget and schedule
  • Prioritize deliverables and produce quality work to exceed agency standards, client objectives and expectations
  • Oversee the budgeting of productions—from initial estimates through post-production
  • Collaborate with account service and creative teams on content activation and marketing
  • Support new business presentations and delivery of all proposal final deliverables
  • Work with teams to create efficient post-production workflows
  • Implement production management systems and protocols across a variety of departments and platforms
  • Provide industry expertise and thought leadership, particularly with problem-solving issues that arise during production
  • Work hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams to prep, organize, schedule, and assist with the hiring of production crews needed for respective productions


Requirements:

  • 10+ years of production management experience
  • 5+ years of experience in leading an integrated production department or have been a business leader of a creatively driven organization
  • A self-starter who has an entrepreneurial knack for building things from scratch
  • Understanding of project management and strong organizational skills required to handle multiple projects at once
  • A nimble problem solver: has the ability to illustrate in shorthand and then shortcut processes to make things happen at pace and with scale
  • Identified new business opportunities from a production standpoint
  • Experience successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams in an ad agency setting
  • Inspiring leadership style with the capability to train, mentor, and bring the best out in a team
  • A passion for the quality of programming you produce
  • Deep knowledge of production best practices (print, video, recording, out of home) and a strong network of production industry contacts
  • History of developing strong relationships: has a strong network of connections across all the creative making industry: printers, mail houses, producers, production houses, digital product making companies, media platforms and their maker capabilities
  • Proven track record producing short-form and/or commercial content
  • Client-facing communication and presentation skills required
  • Excellent analytical and concise writing skills required
  • Gained a strong understanding of the relationship between content, experience, and media channels
  • Curious about bleeding edge of current industry and technology trends, and culturally attuned to where communications, production, making and technology are heading
  • Worked to evolve media landscapes and the role of communications planning in that space
